Dorset LNP successful in its bid to the Defra Local Pollinators Fund

Following a call to its Forum members Dorset LNP submitted a bid to Defra's LNP Local Pollinators Fund for a partnership project involving Dorset Wildlife Trust, National Trust, Butterfly Conservation and Bournemouth University to support the Bees Needs Call to Action.

The bid was successful and the LNP has been offered a full grant of £4,000 - one of only six projects funded across England in this round of funding.

The project will involve Dorset Wildlife Trust working with three local communities to develop pollinator friendly gardens and verges and the National Trust working with its tenant farmers to promote habitat creation for pollinators on farmland.  The project will be monitored and evaluated through the Pollinator Exchange, led by Bournemouth University, and the Polli:Nation project with training sessions on surveying being led by the Butterfly Conservation.
